Deep-Zoom Boris Loves Clean Streets!
Look into my eye (Deep Zoom into my eyes!)
I was inspired by the Deep-Zoom Obama image produced by Donavon West . He uses some great Microsoft technology, Silverlight and Deep Zoom to produce an effective campaign tool for Obama. We’re trying to interest Boris and the GLA in our ‘Love Lewisham’ work as a way of helping to clean-up London for 2012. Hope it doesn’t put them off! If you zoom into his eyes, you’ll see some hi-res images buried there. You may need to download and install Silverlight if you’ve not done so already. Please let me know what you think.
I wanted to ask my colleagues what they think, but guess what?.. our friends in corporate IT block Microsoft Silverlight from being installed on our desktops. What a laugh!
So, a clean London is a glint in Boris’s eye?

Hope so! Did the Silverlight app. work OK? We’ll probably tidy this up a bit later. The mosaic is compiled from loads of images posted to Love Lewisham. My first attempts seemed to include some random images thrown-in from elsewhere on my computer, which was a bit alarming. Did you see Steve Bullock in one of his eyes?! If you like the Deep Zoom effect, you’ll love what Hard Rock Cafe have done with it:
